Mr Anil Poddar

Mr Anil Poddar qualified as a doctor in 1986 in Calcutta, India. He completed a dissertation for the award of his medical qualification and then worked for several years in general surgery in India. He has trained in the UK for the last 15 years and worked across the country in the fields of breast and general surgery. He is a specialist general surgeon, with a subspecialist interest in breast surgery.

Anil's clinical interests include the treatment of breast cancer and oncoplastic breast surgery. He has also presented audits on different aspects of breast surgery, thereby improving patient care pathway for breast surgery.

Appointed as a Consultant Breast and General Surgeon at Whipps Cross University Hospital in London, he worked there for 18 months. During this time he set up a breast reconstructive surgery unit.

Anil has now moved to Kent and is working at East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust. He has clincal commitments at both Kent & Canterbury and QEQM hospital at Margate.
