Mr Andrew Miles

Andrew Miles has been a fellow of the Royal college of Surgeons since 1988 and a consultant surgeon in Winchester since 1999.

Andrew did his undergraduate training at St Thomas's Hospital and his post graduate surgical training at The Westminster Hospital in London. Subsequently he was awarded a travelling fellowship to train in laparoscopic surgery in Adelaide, Australia in 1993 and since his return in 1994 has worked in Hampshire.

He is been an active trainer of other surgeons, both trainees and consultants. Previously he has been the programme director for general surgical training in Wessex, a member of the specialist advisory committee for surgical training at The Royal College of Surgeons in London and a member their governing council. He continues to work full time for the NHS providing both emergency general surgery and specialist colorectal services.

In addition to his consultant appointments in Hampshire he is also a senior lecturer in coloproctology of the University of East Anglia and an associate professor of surgery of St George's University, Grenada.
