Mr Amjad Peracha

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon based at the Royal Derby Hospital, part of University Hospitals of Derby & Burton, where I have worked since July 2000. I have over 21 years’ experience in delivering specialist urological care for patients across Derbyshire and the East Midlands.

Alongside my clinical work, I have played a significant role in improving cancer services locally and regionally. I was the Urology Cancer Lead from 2014 to 2020 and served as Chair of the East Midlands Urology Expert Clinical Advisory Group (ECAG) at the East Midlands Cancer Alliance for six years. These roles involved helping to shape best practice, ensuring high standards of care, and improving outcomes for patients with urological cancers.

I am committed to education and training, which directly benefits patient care. I regularly teach medical students from Nottingham and Derby Medical Schools and act as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for junior doctors. I am also an approved Trainer for Specialist Registrars in Urology, supporting the next generation of urologists.
