Mr Ali Kalan

Mr Ali Kalan is a consultant surgeon in ear, nose and throat (ENT) at the North West London Hospital. Kalan also practices privately at Spire Bushey Hospital; BMI Bishops Wood Hospital; BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital and BMI Hendon Hospital.

In 1987, Mr Kalan did his medical training at Poona University in India. He moved to the UK in 1990 to undertake his specialist training in ear, nose and throat surgery at the Royal National Ear Nose and Throat Hospital (part of University College London), St Bartholemew's Hiosotkal and Whipps Cross Hospital. He became a consultant in 2002.

Mr Kalan has a specialist interest in ear diseases (otology) and nose and sinus problems. He is trained in endoscopic sinus surgery which uses a tube-like telescope to unblock the sinuses to relieve pain. He is interested in sleep and snoring problems including sleep apnoea. He did a year's research at the London Chest Hospital looking at patients with changes to their nasal passage and airways who require assisted breathing. Additionally, he also sees adults and children with general ear, nose and throat problems.
