Miss Sonia Mall is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with over 15 years in the treatment and management of medical retina problems, diabetic eye complications, retinal vein occlusions, and cataract surgery. She sees private patients at the BMI Runnymede Hospital and the Nuffield Health Woking Hospital.
Miss Mall earned her primary medical qualification in 2005 at the University of Southampton, after which she undertook her specialist ophthalmology training at the Oxford Eye Hospital and the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, in addition to undertaking her Medical Retina Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Upon completion, Miss Mall was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Ashford and St Peter's Hospital. Since her appointment, Miss Mall has been an active member of the research community, authoring numerous peer-reviewed articles in renowned ophthalmology journals and presenting her work at national and international conferences. Miss Mall has also worked as a Sub-investigator on clinical trials for Age-related macular degeneration, and vitreomacular traction.

Miss Sonia Mall is a top Consultant Opthalmic Surgeon highly skilled in her profession. The care I have received has been nothing but excellent every inch of the way. I had cataract surgery and Toric EMV Lens Implant in Feb. and March 2023. The outcome has been outstandingly successful as I can read the newspaper without spectacles and no longer need glasses for driving. Dr. Sonia Mall is a top consultant and without doubt five stars in all aspects. She is extremely skilled, attentive and excellent in communicating every detail in every way. She is scrupulous to ensure a successful outcome. I consider myself very lucky to have had her for the cataract surgery in both eyes with intraocular lens. Every detail was attended to and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Miss Mall carried out lens replacement for cataracts for my elderly aunt. She was so kind and patient, especially as my aunt is hard of hearing. Cataract surgery was completed without any complications. My aunt was quite anxious about the procedure, but she was very well supported during the operations by Miss Mall and nursing staff.

Was quite busy so most appointments were a bit delayed but otherwise once in chair the procedure was smooth. Very little additional discussion or extra advice or explanation but enough to ease worry. Thanks.
