About Dr Zarrin Shaikh

I am a Consultant Cardiologist with decades of experience in managing all aspects of general cardiology including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, light-headedness, blackouts, high blood pressure, heart failure and more.

I know how unsettling cardiac symptoms can be, so all my initial consultations are a full hour so that we can fully evaluate the issues and strive to get to the root causes. This enables us to agree on a personalised investigation and treatment plan with enough time left over for questions.

I organise, perform and interpret all initial cardiac investigations. I will arrange advanced cardiac imaging with CT or MRI if required. I also arrange for additional invasive testing if needed.

I qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2001 and trained in teaching hospitals across Nottingham, Cardiff, London and Liverpool. This gave me an excellent grounding in both general medicine and cardiology. I have a special interest in both prevention of heart disease and cardiac imaging. I have lectured both locally and nationally in these areas. My PhD was funded by the British Heart Foundation and examined the interplay between the cardiovascular system, respiratory system and sleep. This sparked an ongoing interest in the relationship between sleep and the heart. I currently work in clinics in Surrey and Berkshire.

You can book by calling my secretary on 07922 923619 and she will be delighted to help.

Please do visit my website www.zarrinshaikh.com for more information on my services along with written, audio and video resources about cardiac health and wellbeing.
