Dr Michael Glaysher

Dr Michael Glaysher is an accomplished Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in General Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Bariatric Surgeon services. He is committed to offering high-quality, patient-centred surgical care tailored to the individual needs of every patient. By integrating modern surgical techniques with evidence-based medical practice, Dr Glaysher aims to deliver excellent clinical outcomes while minimising patient discomfort and recovery time.

In his clinical practice, Dr Glaysher focuses on advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical approaches. His primary areas of clinical interest include complex abdominal wall reconstruction and the repair of ventral and incisional hernias utilising state-of-the-art robotic platforms. In addition, he manages a wide array of upper gastrointestinal conditions, performing procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute and chronic gallstone disease, common bile duct exploration, anti-reflux fundoplication, and comprehensive metabolic and weight-loss surgical treatments.

Dr Glaysher qualified in medicine with a Bachelor of Medicine degree with Honours (BM Hons) and subsequently undertook dedicated surgical research to attain his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. He earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Eng) and completed an advanced post-CCT fellowship specialising in upper gastrointestinal, abdominal wall, and metabolic surgery. Actively engaged in surgical education and the advancement of outcomes-focused clinical care, Dr Glaysher serves as a member of the British Hernia Society Training and Education Sub-committee.
