Dr Mechteld De Jong is a dedicated Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in endocrine surgery and surgical oncology. She provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals presenting with benign and malignant conditions affecting the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Dr De Jong is committed to delivering tailored treatment plans, utilising advanced surgical techniques to achieve optimal clinical outcomes while maintaining clear communication and patient comfort throughout the treatment journey.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of general and specialised surgical interventions. Dr De Jong has particular expertise in thyroid surgery, including thyroid lobectomy and total thyroidectomy for differentiated thyroid cancer, as well as parathyroidectomy for primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism. She also manages complex adrenal conditions, performing open, laparoscopic, and robotic adrenalectomy for conditions such as phaeochromocytoma, paraganglioma, and adrenocortical carcinoma.
