Dr Maximilian Pachl

Dr Maximilian Pachl is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon who specialises in providing expert surgical care for infants, children, and young people. With extensive clinical expertise in general paediatric surgery, keyhole (minimally invasive) procedures, and paediatric surgical oncology, Dr Pachl is dedicated to delivering precise, compassionate, and family-centred care. He works closely alongside multidisciplinary medical teams to ensure that young patients receive tailored treatment plans designed to achieve the best possible outcomes.

His clinical interests encompass neonatal surgery, complex surgical oncology, and advanced minimally invasive techniques. Dr Pachl focuses particularly on the management of solid childhood tumours, including renal tumours and neuroblastomas. He utilises innovative surgical approaches, such as fluorescence-guided surgery with indocyanine green dye and 3D modelling technology, to enhance surgical precision and optimise patient safety during complex resections. Additionally, Dr Pachl is highly experienced in ultrasound-guided vascular access procedures, including the placement of tunneled central lines and implantable venous access devices.

Dr Pachl earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degrees from the University of Manchester, qualifying in 2001. He subsequently completed higher specialist training in Paediatric Surgery across Sheffield, Birmingham, and Bristol. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery (FRCS Paed.Surg) and maintains an active role in clinical research and surgical simulation training to advance surgical standards for children.
