Dr Matthew Revell

Dr Matthew Revell is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in lower limb joint reconstruction and replacement. He focuses on diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of hip and knee conditions, helping patients manage joint pain, restore mobility, and regain independence in their daily lives. Dr Revell works closely with every individual to ensure their care plan is tailored to their personal health needs and lifestyle goals.

His clinical practice encompasses primary hip replacement, primary knee replacement, and complex revision joint replacements. Dr Revell possesses expertise in computer-navigated surgical techniques, robotic orthopaedic systems, and the management of peri-prosthetic fractures around existing joint replacements. By incorporating evidence-based surgical approaches and modern technological innovations, he strives to optimise joint alignment, promote implant longevity, and support effective post-operative recovery.

Dr Revell completed his undergraduate medical education in London, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He undertook early post-graduate clinical training in the South East of England before completing higher surgical training in Orthopaedic Surgery in the West Midlands. He subsequently pursued specialised fellowship training in complex revision joint replacement surgery in Sheffield and Birmingham. Dr Revell is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS Tr&Orth), holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FFFMLM). Alongside his surgical work, he has served in senior clinical governance as an Executive Medical Director, driving advances in medical education and orthopaedic research.
