Dr Matthew Parton is an established Consultant Neurologist with extensive expertise in general neurology and specialist neuromuscular medicine. He provides compassionate and structured care for patients presenting with a wide variety of neurological symptoms, placing a strong emphasis on precise clinical evaluation and tailored treatment plans. Having completed comprehensive medical training and higher specialist education in Neurology, Dr Parton has developed advanced expertise in complex nerve and muscle conditions. He has held senior consultant and clinical leadership positions, including roles as a Clinical Director and lead for clinical governance. Alongside his direct clinical responsibilities, he actively contributes to clinical research and academic publications, focusing on neuromuscular diseases, inflammatory myopathies, and genetic muscle disorders.

Dr Parton's clinical practice covers a broad spectrum of neuromuscular conditions, with a particular focus on inflammatory muscle diseases such as inclusion body myositis, polymyositis, and dermatomyositis. He also possesses expertise in evaluating hereditary muscle dystrophies, myopathies, muscle and brain channelopathies, mitochondrial diseases, peripheral neuropathies, motor neuron disease, and neuromuscular junction disorders such as myasthenia gravis. Utilising diagnostic procedures such as muscle and nerve biopsies, Dr Parton works alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualised treatment strategies and comprehensive long-term condition management.
