Mr Marcus Posner

Mr Marcus Posner is a consultant ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon practicing at Queens Hospital, London Medical, Cromwell Hospital, St John and St Elizabeth Hospital, and Sydney Street Outpatient Centre.

His clinical practice covers a wide range of adult and paediatric eye conditions, with particular expertise in examining and managing patients with learning difficulties, including dyslexia and autism. In children, he treats squint, amblyopia (lazy eye), refractive errors, and various developmental and congenital eye conditions. His adult practice includes cataract surgery and lens replacement, adult squint surgery, and management of neuro-visual disorders such as optic neuritis, brain tumours, stroke, as well as common conditions like glaucoma, uveitis, and macular degeneration.

Mr Posner’s experience as a consultant in one of Europe’s busiest eye emergency units at Moorfields ensures that he stays up to date with the latest ophthalmic practices. He is also a surgical trainer and the regional undergraduate education lead for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, actively contributing to the clinical and surgical education of regional trainees.

His research interests focus on myopia management in children, childhood eye tumours, and improving ocular healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa.
