Mr Zine El Housseini was recommended by his secretary Paola, as I was desperate to get Stephen Shepherd seen as he was having visual difficulties in his right eye. Mr El Housseini responded immediately to a request to see Stephen in his care home as he is bed bound. I was truly grateful for the response and care which Mr El Housseini gave to Stephen which ultimately meant emergency surgery. This was carried out in the Private Wing of the Royal Free Hospital. It was here that I wish to make a complaint of the way Stephen was dealt with as an in patient by the staff. Luckily, I had paid for a private nurse to tend to Stephen. The private nurse with Stephen forwarded me videos of Stephen being totally left alone and the staff were sat at the end of the corridor doing nothing. I did report this to Mr El Housseini at the time and he was brilliant in the handling of the situation and listened to my complaint. He was very accessible to me for Stephen's care (who is a stroke victim and totally dependent). Mr El Housseini was available for any questions we had and the follow up was excellent too and more visits were made to Stephen in the care home. I would recommend Mr El Housseini.

Mr Elhousseini was very approachable and sympathetic. He personally responded promptly to my emails. He took care to explain things to me and ensured there was adequate after-care and review.

An absolutely fantastic retinal and cataract surgeon. Has huge experience in complex surgery and I would take my family members to see him any day. Great clinical skills and communication skills, and very empathetic. Above all, he is a very nice and humane person, which is what is most important about a doctor.
