Dr Marc Swan

Dr Marc Swan is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon who specialises in paediatric plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate reconstruction, and facial plastic procedures. Serving as a Clinical Director in reconstructive cleft care, he provides compassionate and patient-centred support for individuals and families requiring complex anatomical reconstruction. His clinical care encompasses the complete patient journey, supporting individuals from initial diagnosis through childhood and into adulthood with dedicated, multidisciplinary care.

His clinical interests encompass the full breadth of paediatric reconstructive surgery, with a focus on comprehensive cleft lip and palate care, trans-oral robotic surgery, and secondary revisional operations. Dr Swan routinely performs specialised speech surgery for velopharyngeal dysfunction, complex palatal fistula reconstruction, lip augmentation, and septorhinoplasty. He remains actively involved in research aimed at improving functional and aesthetic outcomes for reconstructive patients through modern surgical techniques and outcome measures.

Dr Swan completed his doctorate in surgical science at the University of Oxford and completed higher surgical training within the Oxford Deanery. He holds a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast). To further refine his expertise, Dr Swan completed prestigious sub-specialty fellowships in paediatric cleft surgery at leading specialist centres in London and Toronto, Canada. He is a member of the Oxford University Global Surgery Group and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, contributing actively to global reconstructive surgery education and surgical training initiatives.
