Dr. Manu Shastry

Dr. Manu Shastry is a dual-accredited Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician and Radionuclide Radiologist with advanced expertise in PET-CT and general nuclear medicine. His special interests include oncology PET-CT and imaging for dementia, where his work provides critical diagnostic insights for complex medical conditions.

Dr. Shastry’s training includes higher specialist education in Nuclear Medicine at University College Hospital London, complemented by a postgraduate MSc degree in Nuclear Medicine from King’s College London. He further specialised in General and Radionuclide Radiology at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, achieving dual accreditation.

Currently, Dr. Shastry practises at Mount Alvernia Hospital, where he focuses on oncology PET-CT and hybrid nuclear medicine imaging. His expertise also extends to imaging for dementia, offering comprehensive care and diagnostics for patients. His NHS practice is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford.

Dr. Shastry has been actively involved in research and has received recognition for his contributions to the field. Notably, he was awarded by the British Nuclear Medicine Society for a poster presentation titled "Quantification of Bone Scans and Assessment of Blood Markers to Identify Prognostic and Response Markers in Radium Therapy," highlighting his dedication to innovation in nuclear medicine.
