Mr Ramappa gained his medical qualifications in 2001 before completing specialist orthopaedic surgery training in the North East of England. During this time, he gained expertise in complex arthroplasty and soft tissue knee procedures. He also completed an arthroplasty fellowship at Golden Jubilee National Hospital, where he trained in Robotic joint replacement, Computer-assisted joint replacement, Revision, and Complex hip and knee replacement. Mr Ramappa is actively involved in research and has published his findings in several medical journals and presented his work at both national and international conferences.
