Dr Malini Kanagalingam

Dr Malini Kanagalingam is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist who has dedicated her career to women’s health since graduating from the University of Glasgow in 1996. Following her specialist training, she gained extensive experience as a Consultant in a busy teaching hospital environment before transitioning her focus toward community gynaecology and reproductive healthcare.

She currently combines her clinical practice with her role as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing at the University of Glasgow, where she contributes to the education and training of future medical professionals.

In her clinical practice, Dr Kanagalingam focuses on outpatient gynaecology with a particular sub-specialism in menopause management. She is committed to a partnership-based approach, ensuring patients are central to their care plans. 

Her expertise encompasses a wide range of outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including transvaginal pelvic ultrasound, early pregnancy scanning, cervical screening, endometrial and vulval biopsies, as well as contraceptive services such as coil and implant insertion. She also manages menopausal care, hormone replacement therapy, problematic periods, and painful intercourse. 

She is a member of the British Menopause Society and a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
