Dr Malini Kanagalingam

Dr Malini Kanagalingam is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who specialises in outpatient gynaecology, community gynaecology, and sexual and reproductive health. She offers individualised, patient-centred care across various stages of women's health, with a strong clinical interest in menopause and perimenopause management. Dr Kanagalingam works in close partnership with her patients to deliver thorough assessments and tailored treatment strategies designed to support ongoing health and well-being.

Dr Kanagalingam earned her medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Glasgow in 1996. She subsequently completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, attaining advanced qualifications in acute gynaecology, early pregnancy care, and gynaecological ultrasound. She is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), a member of the British Menopause Society, and holds associate membership with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. In addition to her clinical practice, she serves as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow.

Her practice encompasses a broad spectrum of care, including the investigation and treatment of heavy or problematic periods, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, hormone replacement therapy guidance, and contraceptive management. Dr Kanagalingam regularly performs diagnostic and clinical procedures, including intrauterine device (coil) insertions and removals, subdermal contraceptive implant fittings, transvaginal pelvic ultrasound scans, early pregnancy assessments, cervical smear tests, outpatient hysteroscopy, and endometrial and vulval biopsies.
