Mr Maitrey Darrad

Mr. Maitrey Darrad is a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon based in Birmingham, with 17 years of expertise in treating kidney stones, benign prostate enlargement, and haematuria. He also specialises in urinary tract infections, bladder conditions, scrotal swellings, and adult circumcisions.

Graduating from Imperial College London’s School of Medicine in 2007, Mr. Darrad completed his surgical and urology training across Yorkshire, Humberside, and the West Midlands. He practices privately at the Priory Hospital, Harborne Hospital, and Spire Parkway Hospital, while also serving as a substantive consultant at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.

An internationally recognised expert, Mr. Darrad has received prestigious awards including the British Association of Urological Surgeons’ Endourology travelling scholarship and the World Congress of Endourology fellowship. These enabled him to train at leading kidney stone centres in Southeast Asia, mastering minimally invasive stone treatments. 

His expertise extends to minimally invasive treatments for prostate enlargement, offering day-case Rezum steam therapy, Green Light Laser, and Bipolar TURP surgery, tailored to individual patient needs. Mr. Darrad is also a leading educator and mentor, recently honoured as the best urological trainer in the West Midlands by trainee surgeons through BAUS.
