Dr Lynda Brook

Dr Lynda Brook is a highly dedicated Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine who specialises in providing compassionate, patient-centred care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. With a profound commitment to improving the quality of life for her young patients, she focuses on managing complex symptoms and supporting families through challenging clinical journeys. Dr Brook is particularly passionate about patient safety and human factors in healthcare, working collaboratively to ensure that medical treatments and dosing recommendations are as safe, sensible, and straightforward as possible.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Brook is a prominent figure in paediatric prescribing and transition care. She serves as the Editor of the Association for Paediatric Palliative Medicine (APPM) Formulary, having previously contributed as the Deputy Editor, and has served as a Specialist Advisor to the British National Formulary for Children. Her pioneering work includes developing the "10 Steps Transition Framework" to support adolescents as they transition from paediatric to adult healthcare services, as well as contributing to the "Rainbow of Palliative Care" needs framework. Through these national initiatives, she continues to advocate for seamless, high-quality care pathways for young patients.

Dr Brook completed her medical training at Leicester University, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). She has further advanced her clinical expertise with a Master of Science (MSc), a Diploma in Palliative Medicine, and a Diploma in Ethics and Law. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). Her extensive academic background and professional qualifications reflect her deep expertise and ongoing commitment to the ethical, legal, and clinical standards of paediatric care.
