About Miss Luxmi Velauthar
Miss Luxmi Velauthar is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with more than 20 years of professional experience. She covers all aspects of general gynaecology but has a specialist interest in foetal medicine and pregnancy complications.
Miss Velauthar qualified in Medicine from the University of Dundee in 1999, before completing a postgraduate qualification from Queen Mary University of London. Following this, she undertook her basic and specialist medical training in London.
She currently works at The Portland Hospital in London, as well as the private centre Lyca Health. Apart from her clinical work, she especially enjoys teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also holds the position as Course Director for obstetrics and gynaecology courses.
Miss Velauthar is also heavily involved in her charitable work both nationally and internationally. She leads projects to train and teach doctors and patients on aspects of women's health.

Dr Velauthar is very friendly, patient, and thorough. She answered all my questions carefully and made me feel at ease. I have been with similar Gynae problems to two other Gynaecologist but with simple treatment and advice my condition is now much better and feel confident that I received the best care. I would highly recommend
I will highly recommend Dr Velauthar as I was very impressed with her excellent communication, attention to detail, and responded to all my questions. She explained about the reasons for me needing a cervical Cerclage as I had previous miscarriages. She was always warm, empathetic and gave me hope. I feel fortunate to be under her care.
It’s been truly amazing knowing Dr. Luxmi and getting treated by her. Really appreciate her knowledge, explaining every detail with clarity, her support, positive outlook, personal attention and empathy and understanding towards my emotions.
