Dr. Lucia Venneri

Dr Lucia Venneri is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads the Echocardiography Service at the National Amyloidosis Centre. She specialises in non-invasive cardiac imaging, including echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance, and has particular expertise in cardiac amyloidosis, cardio-oncology, hereditary cardiomyopathies, and valvular cardiomyopathies.

Dr Venneri graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Pisa in 2000 and obtained a PhD in Cardiovascular Pathophysiology from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, in 2003. She completed specialist training in Cardiology with Honours in 2007. Between 2000 and 2008, she worked as a Researcher at the Institute of Clinical Physiology, National Research Council (CNR), Pisa, and since 2008 has served as a Consultant Cardiologist at the G. Monasterio Foundation, Tuscany.

In 2014, Dr Venneri relocated to the UK and joined the Royal Brompton Hospital as a Specialty Doctor in Cardiology, contributing to the development of echocardiography services for the Cardio-Oncology Clinic and the Hereditary Cardiomyopathies Clinic. In 2021, she was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Free Hospital, where she continues her clinical and research work in advanced cardiac imaging and cardiomyopathy.
