Dr Lisa Howell

Dr Lisa Howell is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Oncologist who specialises in the care and management of children and young people facing complex oncological conditions. As a compassionate Paediatrician, she focuses on providing family-centred, comprehensive care for young patients with a wide variety of childhood cancers and haematological disorders. Her clinical practice encompasses accurate diagnosis, individualised treatment planning, and holistic supportive care tailored to the unique physical and emotional needs of children.

In her clinical practice, Dr Howell manages a broad spectrum of paediatric malignancies, including solid tumours, brain and spinal tumours, leukaemia, and renal conditions such as Wilms tumour. She oversees advanced therapeutic interventions such as cytotoxic chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and central venous access care, while also conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including lumbar punctures, intrathecal therapy, and bone marrow aspirations. Beyond active treatment, Dr Howell is deeply involved in experimental cancer medicine, clinical trials, symptom management, late effects follow-up care, and innovative community-based care initiatives designed to improve quality of life for young patients and their families.

Dr Howell holds a primary medical degree and completed extensive postgraduate specialty training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Oncology. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). In addition to her clinical qualifications, she actively participates in clinical research, medical education, and regional clinical leadership, contributing to multi-centre clinical trials and standardising high-quality cancer care pathways across paediatric networks.
