Dr Laura Whittaker

Dr Laura Whittaker is an accomplished Consultant General Surgeon and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon who provides comprehensive diagnostic and surgical care. Working within both elective and emergency surgical settings, she delivers tailored treatment plans designed to address a wide variety of abdominal and general surgical conditions. Dr Whittaker is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-focused care that puts individual comfort and safety at the forefront of her clinical practice.

Dr Whittaker graduated with her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Leeds, achieving her medical qualification in 2001. She went on to earn a Master of Science (MSc) and completed the majority of her higher surgical training within the Yorkshire region. Demonstrating her commitment to clinical excellence and high professional standards, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Ed).

In addition to her surgical work, Dr Whittaker serves as Clinical Director for Surgery, contributing to clinical governance and operational quality. Her surgical practice encompasses upper gastrointestinal conditions and minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy for gallstone disease and keyhole hernia repairs. She also performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient care pathways.
