I have been working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist since 2010, helping patients with a wide range of digestive problems. These include indigestion, acid reflux, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, and food intolerances. I have a specialist interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy.
I specialise in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as bowel cancer screening. I also have a particular interest in treating functional and autoimmune gastrointestinal conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), coeliac disease, dyspepsia, and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. In addition, I offer expertise in managing rare and complex disorders including microscopic colitis and eosinophilic oesophagitis.
Over the years, I have performed more than 5,000 gastroscopies and over 5,000 colonoscopies, and have reported more than 1,000 capsule endoscopies. I have extensive experience in colonoscopy and advanced polyp removal and have been accredited to perform bowel cancer screening colonoscopies since 2012. I am the lead gastroenterologist for the colo-rectal multidisciplinary meeting (MDT) and the polyp MDT in my NHS hospital and I am an expert in advanced complex polyp removal.
Since 2012, I have been the Director of the North East London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre, reflecting my strong interest in the screening and prevention of digestive disorders.
I currently serve as the Endoscopy Lead at my NHS hospital, as well as the Endoscopy Lead for North East London. In these roles, I focus on ensuring that every procedure is performed safely, comfortably, and to the highest possible standard.
Teaching and training are also important parts of my work. I have been teaching on JAG endoscopy courses since 2009 and I have been the North East London Lead for the London Endoscopy Training Academy since its foundation in 2022.
My approach is patient-centred: I take the time to listen, explain, and work with you to find the best way forward for your digestive health.
