Dr Laura Mantoan

Dr Laura Mantoan is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist and Adult Epileptologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing complex neurological conditions. With a commitment to delivering professional, objective, and reassuring guidance, she specialises in evaluating and managing intricate neurological disorders, helping patients navigate challenging diagnoses with clarity and evidence-based support.

Her primary area of clinical expertise lies in adult epilepsy genetics, drug-resistant seizure disorders, and rare neurological conditions. Dr Mantoan has extensive clinical focus in managing super-refractory epilepsy, new-onset refractory status epilepticus, focal cortical dysplasia, and autoimmune neurological disorders. In addition to medical management, she is actively involved in implementing novel diagnostic methods and innovative therapies, including vagal nerve stimulation, targeted precision medicines, and multidisciplinary neuroimmunology treatments.

Dr Mantoan completed her foundational medical training to earn her Medical Degree and subsequently achieved a Doctor of Philosophy focused on neurobiological mechanisms underlying seizure disorders. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, holds accreditation as a Diplomate in Electroencephalography with the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists, and is a recognised Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
