Dr Kevin Chiu is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising
in head and neck cancer, and is recognised as a leading expert in the field. He
serves as Lead Head and Neck Oncologist at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, the largest
non-surgical cancer centre in the South of England, providing specialist care
across Northwick Park, Watford, Wexham Park, Luton and Bedfordshire, and East and
North Hertfordshire. He is the chair of Head and Neck Cancer department, Head
and neck cancer Research Lead, and Clinical Lead for Radiation Services at
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
Dr Chiu obtained his medical degree from the University of Manchester and
completed his Clinical Oncology training in the South West England Deanery. He subsequently
undertook a prestigious senior clinical and research fellowship in head and
neck oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University of Toronto,
Canada.
His research interests include advanced targeted radiotherapy, adaptive
radiotherapy, and the application of artificial intelligence in cancer care. He
has received multiple awards for his contributions to head and neck cancer research
and clinical pathway development, and has served as Principal Investigator and
Chief Investigator on numerous national and international clinical trials. In
recognition of his outstanding contribution to delivering exceptional standards
of care to cancer patients, Dr Chiu was awarded the National Clinical Impact
Award in 2023.
