GenesisCare Elstree

I received treatment from Genesis Care Elstree, a total of 9 fractions over what became three weeks in June 26. While the centre is clean, cool and light, with the Radiotherapy staff and nurses being fantastic, unfortunately the front of house, admin team and manager of the centre left something to be desired. There was often no-one on reception for the majority of my appointments. When I was dropped off at site around 8am, for an 8.15am appointment the entrance doors were frequently locked. I had also completed 5 fractions before someone even realised they needed a photo of me on record for security reasons. I had days where the car collection simply wasn't booked or was scheduled for the wrong time, a major benefit at the centre that was supposed to make you feel stress free became a job in itself. Ringing both the cab firm, the centre (where no-one answered the phone) and sending emails to both the reception team and my Oncology team. Feeling lost and helpless while waiting for a response. The Radiotherapy machine also went down a few times, this resulted in two days with no treatment at all, and two other days where I was sent to both Windsor (not ideal if you live in North London) and Chelmsford. This was disruptive, exhausting, and frustrating. I found the front of house team, chaotic, not trained efficiently and with a luck lustre approach to customer service, especially considering their cliental are unwell and need all the support and warmth one can get. I had over a month of daily zaps from radiotherapy at Genesis Elstree. It’s a daunting thing to go through but every single member of staff made an incredible difference. Denise on the front desk was an utter delight, Faye and team from Penny Brohn made a difference and the radio team were off the chart lovely / professional and kind. I even managed laughs….. thankyou for seeing every human and treating them with kindness and helping from the medical point of view.

In 2026 I've had 23 radiotherapy sessions following by 24 physiotherapy/fitness sessions at GenesisCare. At all times, all of the staff were friendly and efficient and the extra services beyond the treatment (wellness, acupuncture and physio/fitness) made a big difference. Particular credit must go to the housekeeper who cleaned up after me with a smile when I threw up before one of my radiotherapy sessions. _All_ of the staff are treating cancer regardless of role.

Everyone I metvthere was friendly, kind & helpful. They turned a daunting experience into a positive one. The genuine warmth and concern of the staff was wonderful. The surroundings are calm, comfortable and attractively furnished with bowls of fruit hot drinks and packets of snacks & biscuits available. So you can sit and relax for a while after treatment.

The clinic made my treatment feel more like a spa visit. By the end of the week I felt more positive about my recovery.

I've had four abs a half weeks if radiotherapy at GenesisCare Elstree. The building is sunny and a nice place to be. Care was excellent but I'm quite glad it's over.

I have been to several Healthcare Centres / hospitals or Clinics and GenesisCare is one of the best places I’ve been to. My Radiotherapy covered a period of 4 weeks and I looked forward to going there every day, even though it was for treatment. That’s because all the staff were great, the centre was constantly being cleaned and for me it was a pleasant experience.
