Dr Kathleen Merrick

Dr Kathleen Merrick is a dedicated Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology who provides compassionate and comprehensive care across all stages of women's reproductive health. Specialising in both obstetric and gynaecological services, she offers individualised care throughout pregnancy, labour, and postnatal recovery, as well as for general gynaecological conditions. Dr Merrick is particularly recognised for her empathetic, patient-centred approach to maternity care, providing reassuring support for complex deliveries, debriefing after traumatic birth experiences, and personalised management during high-risk pregnancies.

Her clinical work spans a broad range of procedures and conditions within obstetrics and gynaecology. In her obstetric practice, Dr Merrick manages routine and high-risk pregnancies, performs emergency and elective caesarean sections, and carries out procedures such as emergency cervical cerclage. Her gynaecological interest extends to basic and intermediate laparoscopic surgical techniques, as well as general gynaecological evaluations. In addition to her clinical commitments, she is actively involved in medical education and inter-professional simulation training, focusing on human factors to continually elevate safety and standards in maternity care.

Dr Merrick completed her postgraduate specialist medical training within the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery. She is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).
