Dr Katherine Broad

Dr Katherine Broad is a highly dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Neonatologist who specialises in the care of newborn infants. With a compassionate and patient-focused approach, she is committed to providing the highest standard of medical care to neonates and supporting their families through challenging times. Her clinical practice focuses on ensuring the best possible outcomes for vulnerable newborns, particularly those requiring intensive or specialised care.

Dr Broad completed her medical education at the University of Birmingham, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2009. Following her primary medical qualification, she undertook extensive postgraduate training in Paediatrics, ultimately specialising in Neonatology. Her academic and clinical background has provided her with a robust foundation in managing complex neonatal conditions and implementing evidence-based practices.

Throughout her career, Dr Broad has developed key clinical interests in perinatal optimisation, neonatal palliative care, and simulation training for healthcare professionals. She is actively involved in clinical research, contributing to studies on therapeutic hypothermia for babies with mild hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE) and non-invasive respiratory support in newborn infants. Her dedication to medical education and simulation training ensures that clinical teams maintain the highest levels of preparedness and expertise in neonatal emergencies.
