Dr Kate Swan

Dr Kate Swan is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician with a specialist focus on paediatric allergy. She provides expert, compassionate care for babies, children, and young people presenting with a wide array of allergic disorders and general paediatric conditions. Working collaboratively with young patients and their families, Dr Swan focuses on delivering comprehensive clinical assessments and personalised management plans designed to address chronic symptoms and improve overall quality of life.

Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of allergic diseases affecting infants and children. Dr Swan possesses sub-specialty expertise in diagnosing and managing complex food allergies, atopic dermatitis (eczema), allergic rhinitis, asthma, hives (urticaria and angioedema), drug allergies, and venom hypersensitivity. She is particularly skilled in diagnostic procedures, including skin prick testing, basophil activation testing, and supervised oral food challenges. Additionally, she oversees specialised therapeutic interventions, such as sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) and food desensitisation programmes.

Dr Swan completed her undergraduate medical training, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and subsequently earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Allergy from Imperial College London. Her strong academic background underpins her active contribution to medical education, where she has served as an Education Fellow and led postgraduate teaching initiatives. Alongside her clinical responsibilities, Dr Swan is actively engaged in clinical research, serving as an investigator on randomised controlled trials evaluating innovative treatments for severe childhood allergic conditions.
