Dr Kate Maresh

Dr Kate Maresh is a Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management for individuals experiencing conditions affecting the nervous system. Dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centred medical care, she works closely with patients to investigate and address symptoms involving the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. Her clinical practice focuses on clear communication, thorough diagnostic evaluation, and tailored management plans to help patients understand and manage their health effectively.

Her primary sub-speciality interest lies in neuromuscular disorders, encompassing conditions that affect muscle function and nerve transmission. Dr Maresh has a strong clinical interest in complex muscle conditions, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy, muscle weakness, and the central nervous system features associated with neuromuscular disease. In addition to her specialist work, she evaluates and manages a wide range of general neurological conditions, including headaches, migraines, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and memory or cognitive disorders.

Dr Maresh completed her initial higher education at the University of Cambridge, earning a First Class Honours degree in Natural Sciences with a focus on Physiology. She subsequently obtained her medical qualification from University College London in 2006. Alongside her clinical practice, she has undertaken advanced medical research as a Clinical Research Fellow, contributing to published work on brain biomarkers and neuromuscular conditions, for which she has received academic distinction.
