I am a senior neurologist with nearly 20 years' consultant experience in the NHS and private sector. I have a special interest and expertise in Parkinson’s and movement disorders including dystonia, ataxia, and atypical parkinsonian disorders such as progressive supranuclear palsy, multiple systems atrophy and corticobasal degeneration.
I trained in medical sciences at Cambridge University and graduated with first-class honours in 1989. For my clinical medical training, I moved to Oxford University, qualifying as a doctor in 1992. After completing general medical training as a junior doctor, I trained in neurology at a number of London hospitals over a period of seven years, including the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. During this time, I developed my special interest and expertise in Parkinson’s and related disorders. I did my PhD at University College, London in the genetics of movement disorders.
I finished my specialist training in 2004 and was appointed as a consultant neurologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where I set up and developed a specialist Parkinson’s service. In 2013 I moved to Cambridge and was appointed as a consultant neurologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital where I have a general neurology practice diagnosing and treating headache, seizures, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and stroke and functional neurological disorders.

Very helpful and informative, felt more reassured after my visit.
Dr Worth was extremely helpful and explained everything in detail. He immediately put me at ease and was very pleasant to deal with throughout the appointment. He took the time to clearly explain the importance of continuing with the preventative medication and what to expect from the treatment process. I left feeling well informed, reassured, and confident in the plan going forward. Once we have the scan results.
My experience with Dr Worth was good and helpful and the medication came via my GP but I had little or no suggestions of how the medication might make me feel except drowsy Since taking the half dose of Primidone I have a headache at the back of my head within an hour or so of taking it is this expected or do I go and bother his secretary.....I feel very slow to take the 50mg However it has helped my tremor

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m sorry to hear that you have had some initial adverse effects. The usual adverse effect is sleepiness and drowsiness.Headache is uncommon with primidone and were it a more common side-effect I would have course have warned you about this. I have just written a response to your enquiry as to what to do next, which I hope you will receive shortly and which I hope will be helpful.
Initial diagnosis with dr Worth; extremely knowledgeable and clear with excellent communication.

Excellent and very thorough , Great service, he really knew what he was talking about and a really good feeling that somebody is very interested in getting the problem solved
Dr Worth provided me some advice following an issue I’ve had for a longtime. I’m much clearer on the route causes and what I can expect moving forward. He’s cool, calm and reassuring in his delivery of his craft. A good experience.
Dr Worth was very clear in his explanations and practical with his advice. He also has a very pleasant manner.
