Mr John Hardman

Mr John Hardman is an accomplished Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in conditions affecting the hand and wrist. Dedicated to delivering patient-focused care, he works closely with individuals to develop tailored treatment plans that alleviate pain, restore mobility, and rebuild everyday hand function. Whether managing chronic joint discomfort or acute traumatic injuries, Mr Hardman aims to achieve optimal clinical outcomes for his patients through evidence-based practice and modern surgical techniques.

In his clinical practice, Mr Hardman manages a broad spectrum of upper limb conditions, with particular expertise in nerve compression syndromes such as carpal tunnel syndrome. He frequently treats individuals suffering from hand and wrist arthritis, Dupuytren's contracture, trigger finger, tendon disorders, ligament injuries, and complex fractures. His technical capabilities encompass advanced procedures including joint replacement, joint fusion, wide-awake hand surgery, minimally invasive keyhole procedures, soft-tissue reconstruction, and fracture fixation.

Mr Hardman earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Leeds, alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree. He completed higher specialist surgical training in orthopaedics, attaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Trauma and Orthopaedics, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Hand Surgery. To further refine his surgical skills, he completed sub-specialist fellowship training at internationally recognised hand centres. He remains actively involved in research and medical education, serving as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holding professional memberships with the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the British Orthopaedic Association.
