I am a surgeon specialising in problems of the knee.
I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital since 2015.
This includes the treatment of arthritis using either partial or total knee replacement surgery, and the treatment of problems of the meniscus and cartilage using advanced keyhole surgery techniques. I regularly perform Mako robotic surgery.
I have a specialist interest in the treatment of patients with complex problems as a result of arthritis of the knee, as well as revision operations to treat patients who have problems with knee replacements (such as painful knee replacements, infections and where the implant becomes loose or worn).
I also offer advice on non-surgical treatments of the knee knee including injections and knee braces.
I am happy to revew patients for a consultation on their knee problem or to offer a second opinion.

Qualifications
I am a specialist orthopaedic trauma and knee arthroplasty
surgeon working at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in Devon, having completed fellowships at Exeter and Nottingham.
I work alongside my colleagues at the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit in the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, specialising in knee and revision arthroplasty and prosthetic joint infection, which is where my academic interests lie.
I have been an active member of both ODEP and Beyond Compliance committees since 2015 and I am a member of both the BASK Revision Knee and the Primary Arthroplasty Working Groups. I am the current Orthoapedic Audit and Governance Lead.
I am on the Editorial Board for the BJJ 360 journal and I am
also a member of AO trauma faculty.
I have also worked alongside Versus Arthritis, setting up a Joint Understanding peer support network for patients undergoing knee arthroplasty.
