Dr Joel Giblett

Dr Joel Giblett is a dedicated Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist who provides comprehensive care for patients presenting with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. His clinical practice encompasses the evaluation and management of general cardiac symptoms, including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, and unexplained collapse. Dr Giblett specialises in complex coronary and structural heart interventions, focusing on delivering advanced, high-quality care to improve cardiac function and patient outcomes.

With a clear emphasis on complex symptom relief, Dr Giblett possesses particular clinical expertise in managing refractory angina, microvascular angina, and resistant hypertension. He utilises innovative interventional techniques, including percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary sinus reducer device placement for difficult-to-treat angina, and renal denervation for high blood pressure that remains uncontrolled by standard medication. Additionally, Dr Giblett performs detailed microcirculatory assessments and structural procedures, such as post-infarct ventricular septal defect closure, ensuring each treatment plan is thoroughly tailored to the individual.

Dr Giblett completed his medical education at the University of Southampton, receiving a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2006 and qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine in 2007. He subsequently attained a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cambridge in 2017. Following completion of specialist training in cardiology in the United Kingdom, he undertook an advanced fellowship in coronary and structural intervention in Canada. Dr Giblett was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2023 and holds professional membership with the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society.
