Miss Jessica Preshaw is a Consultant Gynaecologist with a specialist interest in benign gynaecology, advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, gynaecological ultrasound, and endometriosis. She qualified from the University of Bristol in 2006 and has been working in gynaecology since 2010. She was appointed as a consultant at North Bristol NHS Trust in 2018.
Miss Preshaw has extensive expertise in managing benign gynaecological conditions using minimally invasive techniques. She was awarded one of only five national advanced laparoscopic surgery posts, which she completed at Southmead Hospital. This advanced training equipped her with the skills to perform complex keyhole surgery and she continues to work within the Southmead Endometriosis Centre, providing specialist care for women with this challenging condition.
In addition to her clinical practice, Miss Preshaw has a strong interest in medical education and research. She has published and presented her work on ultrasound and laparoscopic education at both national and international conferences. She is actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is an engaged member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy.

Miss Jessica Preshaw's clear and professional approach helps patients feel comfortable. She listens well and explains procedures and all treatment options, empowering patient choice. Her expertise is highly valued for gynaecological issues, with many patients seeking her for conditions like endometriosis, adenomyosis, and chronic pelvic pain.
I felt like I was listened to, and treatment options clearly explained. Endometriosis can be frustrating andI feel like I have been dismissed by other doctors. I left this appointment feeling positive and with a clear treatment plan in place
I found Jessica very professional compassionate and I felt like she heard what I was saying and took everything into account. Which is very refreshing after going through years of back and forth and made to feel like my symptoms weren’t relevant. Jessica gave me options and she did not try to force me to take drugs or do anything I wasn’t comfortable with. Jessica explained all of my options thoroughly and what would be best for me. To me that was amazing as over the years my other appointments when I said no or I’m not comfortable I felt very pressured. With Jessica my appointment was like a breath of fresh air. I didn’t feel judged or rushed and I didn’t feel like it was one side fits all. She gave me time and listened. My previous appointment with someone else I was left feeling rubbish and like I was making it up. It felt good to be told it’s not in my mind and be heard.
I’ve suffered with extremely painful period cramps since my first period, for about 2 days each month I’m completely not functional. I was quite apprehensive before seeing Miss Preshaw as I’ve seen numerous GPs over the years and there didn’t seem to be anything that could be done for me as all the pain killers I was prescribed weren’t effective and most couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to use some form of hormone treatment. Miss Preshaw put me at ease right away. She gave me time and space to explain what my concerns were. She was empathetic and really understood the impact. It felt like a collaborative discussion with my preference of not using hormone therapies being totally listened to. She was very knowledgeable and her explanations were accessible. I really appreciated her saying that periods shouldn’t be this painful. It’s the first time in I don’t know how many years that I’ve got options to explore and I’m hopeful that I might get to the point that I can control the pain. I cannot recommend Miss Preshaw enough.
very good and helped me to understand my options and what was going on
Jessica was amazing, thankyou

Miss Preshaw is the most kind and empathetic medical practitioner. She listens attentively and explains test results and symptom causes with great care. She has understood my frustrations with my illness, thoroughly explained my treatment options and helped me to feel confident in my decisions making.
Jess is a excellent doctor. Personable, compassionate and skilled. I would highly recommend her for the provision of evidenced-based and patient-centred care.
