Dr Jennifer Spillane

Dr Jennifer Spillane is a highly qualified Consultant Neurologist dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing neurological disorders. She possesses extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide array of conditions affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems. Her primary clinical focus encompasses neuromuscular diseases and neurocritical care, where she delivers expert assessment and long-term management tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

Dr Spillane completed her undergraduate medical studies and initial core training in Cork, Ireland, earning her medical degrees (MB BCh BAO) alongside a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSc). She subsequently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at University College London, conducting research into synaptic transmission and autoimmune disorders of the neuromuscular junction. Dr Spillane completed her specialist higher training in Neurology in London and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).

In her clinical practice, Dr Spillane specialises in complex autoimmune conditions affecting the neuromuscular junction, such as myasthenia gravis and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome, as well as both inherited and acquired peripheral neuropathies. She offers advanced treatment interventions, including intravenous immunoglobulin therapy and therapeutic plasma exchange, alongside specialist consultations in neurocritical care.
