Dr Jennifer Humphreys

Dr Jennifer Humphreys is an accomplished Consultant Rheumatologist who provides expert, compassionate care to patients with complex musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. Working across adolescent and adult clinical settings, she is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care tailored to each individual's health requirements. Dr Humphreys focuses on providing empathetic support and clear guidance, helping patients manage chronic symptoms effectively and maintain optimal long-term joint health.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of rheumatic disorders, with special interests in early inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Dr Humphreys offers comprehensive diagnostic assessments and individualised management plans, utilising advanced immunosuppressive therapies, targeted biological treatments, and therapeutic steroid joint injections to control inflammation and protect joint function. Additionally, she possesses specialised expertise in supporting young patients through the transition from paediatric to adult rheumatology care, ensuring continuous support during a critical stage of their medical journey.

Dr Humphreys completed her primary medical qualifications (MBChB) before undertaking advanced research, earning her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2015 for her study into rheumatoid arthritis classification criteria and autoantibodies. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Alongside her clinical duties, she serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer, contributing to ongoing clinical research, medical education, and the development of evidence-based guidelines for rheumatic disease management.
