Dr Surabhi Wig

Dr Surabhi Wig is a highly accomplished Consultant Rheumatologist who delivers compassionate, patient-centred care to individuals experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. Adopting a thorough and holistic approach to clinical practice, Dr Wig places open communication at the heart of every consultation. She works closely with each individual to formulate tailored management plans designed to relieve discomfort, restore physical function, and enhance overall quality of life.

Dr Wig qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Punjab University in 2000, before completing a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in General Medicine at Baba Farid University in 2004. She attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) in 2006 and was awarded her Specialty Certificate in Rheumatology in 2010. Continuing her commitment to advanced post-graduate study, Dr Wig earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Rheumatology from the University of Manchester in 2012, was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP London) in 2016, and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound at Brunel University in 2021. She maintains professional memberships with the British Society for Rheumatology and the Royal College of Physicians.

In her daily clinical practice, Dr Wig specialises in the diagnosis and long-term management of complex rheumatic disorders. Her extensive clinical interests include early and treatment-resistant inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, regional and widespread musculoskeletal pain, soft tissue rheumatism, and vasculitis. She routinely treats conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, gout, polymyalgia rheumatica, and osteoporosis. To support accurate diagnostic evaluations and offer targeted symptomatic relief, she performs advanced joint and tendon sheath injections.

Beyond direct patient care, Dr Wig actively contributes to medical education and quality improvement programmes aimed at elevating standards of care. She serves as a clinical supervisor for junior doctors and trainees and has published research findings in respected peer-reviewed medical journals.
