Dr. Jennifer Greenhowe

Dr. Jennifer Greenhowe is an accomplished Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in paediatric plastic surgery and reconstructive procedures. With an empathetic and reassuring clinical approach, Dr. Greenhowe provides high-quality care to young patients and their families. Her practice encompasses a wide spectrum of surgical interventions, including the management of complex burn injuries, acute soft tissue trauma, and congenital upper limb conditions, ensuring each child receives meticulous, tailored treatment.

Dr. Greenhowe completed her medical training with a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours (BMSc Hons) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), subsequently pursuing advanced postgraduate research degrees to earn a Master of Science (MSc) and a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil). She obtained her professional qualification as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Plastic Surgery, FRCSEd (Plast), and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). She has also undertaken advanced sub-speciality fellowship training in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery at the University of Toronto, as well as holding an NHS Research Scotland Career Fellowship focused on advancing scar treatment.

In her clinical and research work, Dr. Greenhowe focuses on paediatric burn care, congenital hand surgery, reconstructive flap surgery, and scar revision. She maintains a dedicated interest in scar pathophysiology and patient-reported outcomes, aiming to optimise functional recovery and alleviate symptoms such as pain, itching, and tightness associated with keloid and hypertrophic scars. Through skilled surgical technique and evidence-based practice, Dr. Greenhowe remains committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for all her patients.
