Dr Jeanpierre Lin

Dr Jeanpierre Lin is an accomplished Consultant Paediatric Neurologist dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care for infants, children, and young people with complex neurological conditions. Working in close partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams, he focuses on delivering tailored clinical assessments and treatment plans that support each young patient's physical development and overall wellbeing. His reassuring approach ensures that children and their parents feel supported throughout every stage of diagnosis and management.

Dr Lin completed his undergraduate medical studies at Edinburgh University Medical School, qualifying in 1983 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB). He later earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Edinburgh University in 1998, focusing his research on motor assessments in cerebral palsy. He holds a Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) and has served in significant national and international leadership positions, including terms as President of the British Paediatric Neurology Association and Chair of the European Paediatric Neurology Society Membership Committee.

As a Specialist in Paediatric Neurology and complex motor disorders, Dr Lin possesses extensive expertise in managing movement conditions such as dystonia, cerebral palsy, chorea, and myoclonus. He has been instrumental in advancing neurosurgical neuromodulation procedures for young patients, particularly through the use of deep brain stimulation and intrathecal baclofen therapy. By combining advanced clinical research with a patient-centred ethos, Dr Lin works to improve functional independence, reduce pain, and enhance the quality of life for children with movement disorders.
