Dr. JS Bamrah

Dr. JS Bamrah is a highly distinguished Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, expert care to patients experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he specialises in diagnosing and treating complex psychiatric conditions, helping individuals navigate their journeys toward recovery and improved well-being. His clinical focus spans general adult psychiatry and old age psychiatry, with particular expertise in managing mood disorders, anxiety, and cognitive conditions. Dr. Bamrah is dedicated to delivering personalised treatment plans that address both the psychological and physical aspects of mental health.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bamrah has developed extensive expertise in treating conditions such as Bipolar Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders, as well as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). He also possesses a deep interest in neuropsychiatry and dementia, particularly Alzheimer's disease, and is highly skilled in managing the psychiatric aspects of physical illnesses, including cardiac, gastrointestinal, and neurological disorders. By combining clinical excellence with a supportive, empathetic manner, he ensures that patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their own care.

Dr. Bamrah qualified in medicine with an MB BS from Punjabi University in 1978. He subsequently pursued specialist training in psychiatry, obtaining his Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 1985 and being elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) in 1997. He also holds a Diploma in Health Service Management, completed in 1994. A highly respected figure in the medical community, Dr. Bamrah has served in numerous leadership roles, including National Chairman of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin and President of the Manchester Medical Society. He has also held positions as a Council Member and Director of Continuing Professional Development for the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and works as an Honorary Reader. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to mental health, diversity, and healthcare, he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2018.
