About Mr Jamie Barnes
Mr. Jamie Barnes is a highly qualified Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic surgeon. His NHS practise is based in the Merseyside Regional Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital, where he specialises in microsurgical breast reconstruction using natural tissue (DIEP flaps). He also practises at The Royal Liverpool Hospital providing complex, revisional, and reconstructive breast surgery through the Linda McCartney Breast Unit. He is fully registered with the GMC as a specialist in plastic surgery and is an active member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (BAPRAS).
Mr. Barnes completed Plastic Surgery training in the North West of England before completing a subspecialty fellowship in microsurgical reconstruction of the breast and head and neck at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals in London. Afterwards, he completed a Cosmetic Surgery fellowship at The Wellington Hospital, London.
Mr. Barnes constantly strives to keep up with all emerging plastic surgery techniques, including drain-free abdominoplasty ("tummy tuck") procedures and auto-augmentation mastopexy techniques using natural tissues and is also very experienced in breast fat grafting to complement or even avoid the use of implants. His main focus of cosmetic surgery is breast and body surgery incuding correction of breast asymmetry, breast augmentation/ reduction/lift as well as abdominoplasty, arm lift, thigh lift, labiaplasty and liposuction. He also offers gender affirming breast augmentation and gynaecomastia surgery or male breast reduction.
Mr. Barnes' private practice is based in a number of locations across the North West including Nuffield Health The Grosvenor Hospital in Chester, The Grange Clinic Chester, Fairfield Independent Hospital in St Helens, Pall Mall Medical in Manchester and Newton-Le-Willows and Whiston Hospital- The Henley Suite.

i am just over 6 months post surgery and i feel amazing. After being diagnosed with breast cancer last year and having to have a mastectomy and reconstruction/diep flap was terrifying, but having a consultation with Mr Barnes explaining the procedure thoroughly, i felt reassured and knew i was in safe hands. I even had my other boob lifted so it would match. My recovery went very well and was amazed with the results. Mr Barnes and his team have turned an awful and scary situation into giving me a new lease of life with a fabulous new pair of boobs…Thank you so much.
