Dr. James Wilson is kind and clear with patients. He provides reassuring answers and detailed explanations. His direct, professional approach initiates quick treatment plans, including various radiotherapy procedures such as stereotactic radiotherapy. Patients highlight his expertise in lung cancer care and overall treatment effectiveness.
During our video calls Dr Wilson was extremely helpful and knowledgeable during a difficult worrying time.
I have just been diagnosed with lung cancer and decided to have a consultation with Dr Wilson after reading about him online. His own website is particularly helpful and stresses how beneficial it is to get early diagnostic tests and procedures after receiving this diagnosis! I was anxious before the consultation but found that he has an extremely friendly and helpful manner. He had already looked at my X Rays and scans even though I had only arranged to see him the previous day! He soon mapped out a detailed plan for further tests and procedures, some of which had not previously been made available to me. Incredibly he was able to action his plan immediately. Over the next four days it was all accomplished and I was then discharged from hospital. I feel I am now making excellent progress and have complete faith in this wonderful Doctor who I found to be a very kind and compassionate person who is totally committed to his patients. I would urge anyone in my position to phone Dr Wilson’s secretary to make an early appointment.
No one wants to get a cancer diagnosis, but Dr Wilson has made everything really straightforward. So kind, compassionate and caring. I know I'm in safe hands and getting excellent treatment.
I couldn't be more grateful to Dr Wilson and his incredible team. He got me started on treatment really quickly while being so kind and supportive. Couldn't recommend James highly enough.
I saw my GP in July 2025, thinking I had a rotator cuff injury. Three months later, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer with bone metastasis. The diagnosis was a shock. I felt well, had no typical lung cancer symptoms and considered myself active, strong and healthy. At 69, I was taking no medications and working three part time jobs. I remember my first Oncology appointment at my local hospital clearly. I left angry but ready to fight. I was told treatment would be chemotherapy with immunotherapy plus possible radiotherapy for shoulder pain and was told treatment would be for life or until toxicity. I felt written off. The focus was entirely pallative with no other options discussed and no words of encouragement. The negative tone jarred with me because I am naturally positive. That meeting pushed me to do my own research which led me to Dr James Wilson speaking about stage 4 lung cancer and oligometastatic disease and so pleased I found him and booked a consultation. Dr Wilson restored my faith and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is easy to talk to, positive but honest, and always gives clear detailed answers and explanations. He is caring, compassionate and really listens to you. He is one of the most personal and supportive Doctors I have ever come across. He diagnosed me with oligometastatic disease and with his backing and support, I asked to be referred for a second opinion at UCLH and am now to have SABR treatment which I could not get at my local hospital. I can not thank him enough for all his support and giving me hope.

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. We are glad that Dr Wilson was able to offer a different perspective and help identify further treatment options. Your positivity and determination is inspiring, and we wish you all the very best with your SABR treatment and the next stage of your journey.
I have lung cancer stage 4. Dr. Wilson and his team have been looking after me for the past 17 months. I have always received great care and attention. On my last visit last Friday to Cromwell Hospital I had an MRI scan, PET scan and my Denusomab jab. The visit went very smoothly with very little waiting around. I couldn’t ask for a better service. I have chemo visits every three weeks and again I go the same place each time and know all the nurses who are so caring and attentive. I feel very well cared for by Dr. Wilson and his team and I’m so glad I found him. Thank you.

Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We’re delighted to hear that you have felt so well cared for and supported. It means a great deal to Dr Wilson and the whole team to know that we have helped.
Clear, concise, caring, and efficient. Left me knowing the position I was in, what I was facing, but optimistic about the outcome.

Thank you for your kind words. We’re so pleased you felt well informed and supported. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Dr. Wilson provided exceptional support and wonderfully reassuring guidance throughout our care. We are extremely grateful for his time, clear explanations, and expert help in navigating treatment options during a challenging time. His team was equally fantastic - prompt in organising documentation and thorough in explaining consultation details. He is an outstanding specialist, and we would like to pass on our most sincere thanks to him and his entire staff.

Thank you for these kind words, Dr. Wilson and the team will be really glad to hear this. We're so pleased his guidance and clear explanations helped during such a challenging time, and that the team's support made things easier along the way. Your thanks means a lot to all of us.
Dr Wilson has been everything you would wish for in a doctor - kind, reassuring, professional with expert knowledge and a great sense of humour. He has a very friendly and relaxed manner which put me at ease straightaway while still remaining professional and making me feel safe in his care. He treated the skin cancer on my lip with superficial radiotherapy which has been a great success therefore avoiding invasive surgery and the risk of being left with a permanent scar. He has kept in touch with me many months after my treatment making sure my recovery has gone well and reassured me that I can contact him anytime. Carol who is Dr Wilson’s secretary was my first point of contact, she has been so lovely, very friendly and efficient. She answered all my initial questions, arranged my treatment plan at times that suited and always kept me informed of appointments etc. Overall I am delighted with the expert treatment and care I have received and would not hesitate in the least to recommend Dr Wilson. I feel very fortunate to have found him.

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It means a great deal to us that you felt so well supported throughout your treatment. We're delighted that the radiotherapy was such a success and that you had a positive experience with both Dr Wilson and Carol. Wishing you good health, and thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.
Another very reassuring and helpful consultation. James always delivers the important news first in a very clear and understandable way, which for me has fortunately been positive and then moves on to any concerns or questions I may have. These are handled in a very understanding and professional way with a clear plan of action that we agree together to address these as efficiently and as productively as possible. All this is conducted in a lovely friendly manner and always with a sense of humour, as and when appropriate. I continue to be a very big fan of James and all his team

Thank you so much for this lovely review, it really means a lot. We're so glad the way James explains things continues to feel clear, reassuring, and human. Great to hear you're still a big fan of him and the team!

If you've just been diagnosed with cancer, the next thing most people have to do is wait. Wait for the letter. Wait for the appointment. Wait to be seen. For many people with lung cancer, they don't even meet their oncologist until molecular profiling is back and that can take two to three weeks. That window doesn't have to be wasted time. In this video, I walk you through exactly what I would do if I'd just received a cancer diagnosis, so you can get to the right specialist quickly, make the most of that appointment, and go into treatment better prepared.

Radiotherapy is a potentially curative treatment for lung cancer. However, like all medical treatments, it comes with potential side effects, some of which may persist long after the therapy has concluded. As the effectiveness of radiotherapy for lung cancer increases, and drug treatments improve the likelihood of long-term survival for patients with lung cancer, the […]
