I have nothing but praise for the manner in which he has steered me through this difficult year during which I was diagnosed and subsequently treated for lung cancer. My meetings with him soon became very positive experiences and I always left feeling better in spirit than when I arrived, notwithstanding the inevitable sometimes serious subjects being discussed. I suppose that shows a skill in considering the "whole person" rather than just the illness.

Dr Wilson has been outstanding throughout my treatment and beyond. He shows genuine empathy dealing with difficult conversations. He is completely honest and caring. I feel like I get treated on a personal level rather than just another patient. He shows understanding with any worries that I may have. He is an outstanding consultant in my opinion and I am very fortunate to have been allocated to him and his colleagues.

A very appealing combination of detailed knowledge and experience, but down-to-earth manner. Very friendly, and warm. I felt he really cared. His explanations of treatment plan were very clear, without any sense of a condescension.

Whilst I wouldn’t wish lung cancer on my worst enemy , if you have it try and see Dr Wilson. Not only is he an extremely well qualified Clinical Oncologist , he’s also a thoroughly decent human being . He explained all the available treatment options in a way that was easy to understand and he patiently answered all my ( and my wife’s ) questions honestly. Dr Wilson always made me feel that I was dealing with someone who’s at the very top of his game .

Dr Wilson's clinical knowledge and expertise is second to none. He is very personable and has a great understanding of the anxiety patients are experiencing. He always has time to explain the journey ahead and treatment that will be delivered. Following my consultation I felt confident the I was going to receive the best possible care and treatment. Both during and after my radiotherapy I felt fully supported by Dr Wilson and his team.

At all times James is excellent. He is open and trustworthy and avoids speaking in jargon. He provides a very high level of care - you would never believe he had other patients to deal with. Given that interactions with him are inevitably about difficult issues and he cannot always deliver good news he is fantastic to deal with. He is also very responsive at all times of day and really puts himself out to help his patients as best he can

I feel very lucky to have Dr Wilson as my clinical oncologist and I have enjoyed meeting him. He struck me as extremely able and he was very happy to explain my treatment to me in detail. Overall, I had the impression that my radiotherapy treatment was meticulously planned and executed.
