Dr James Pollard

Dr James Pollard is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in colorectal and general surgical conditions. Dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care, he focuses on providing patient-centred diagnostic and surgical solutions tailored to each individual's needs. Dr Pollard is committed to clear communication and patient reassurance throughout every stage of care, from initial assessment through to post-operative recovery.

In his clinical practice, Dr Pollard manages a comprehensive range of general surgical and lower gastrointestinal disorders. His clinical scope encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease—such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis—and anorectal conditions, including haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and anal fistulas. Furthermore, Dr Pollard regularly performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, hernia repair, and procedures for gallstones, utilising advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques to support quicker recovery and optimal health outcomes.

Dr Pollard graduated with his medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Manchester in 2005. He completed his core and higher surgical training within the North West of England, complemented by further specialist training in Scotland. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he maintains active involvement in surgical education as a Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also a Member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
