Mr Jagdeep Virk

Mr Jagdeep Virk is a Consultant Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon and a substantive consultant at Barts NHS Trust, since 2020. He completed undergraduate training at Cambridge University and Imperial College London, with subsequent postgraduation surgical training in London deanery. He then successfully completed the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons ratified Imperial College/Charing Cross Advanced Head and Neck fellowship followed by an international fellowship at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Melbourne) to augment his training.

As an ENT surgeon, Mr Virk provides treatment for all general adult and paediatric conditions. His subspecialist areas of expertise include head and neck surgical oncology, thyroid disease, parathyroid conditions, anterior skull base (sinonasal tumours/polyposis, endoscopic sinus surgery) and salivary gland disorders. He is the current Head and Neck Cancer MDT chair at Barts Health and a core member of the skull base MDT alongside the NEL cancer alliance lead for the faster diagnosis pathway.

Mr Virk has produced a high volume of research and audit output, with over 70 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, alongside a multitude of national and international conference presentations. He is also approved by all major insurers.
