Dr Indermeet Sawhney

Dr Indermeet Sawhney is a Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in general psychiatry and the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions. She provides compassionate, holistic, and patient-focused psychiatric care for adults presenting with a wide range of mental health needs. Dr Sawhney takes a collaborative approach to every evaluation, believing that each individual should be understood in the context of their unique personal strengths, clinical requirements, and personal background.

Her main areas of clinical focus encompass neurodevelopmental disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Conditions, as well as intellectual and learning disabilities. Dr Sawhney offers comprehensive adult psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and personalised treatment planning. She is deeply committed to supporting patients and their families through timely diagnoses, evidence-based interventions, and tailored care strategies that promote long-term well-being and independence.

Dr Sawhney completed her primary medical degree (MBBS) and undertook higher specialist training in psychiatry at Oxford. She obtained her membership to the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2004 and was subsequently awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) as a mark of distinction for her contributions to the field. She also holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Law (LLM). Alongside her clinical work, she is an active member and leader within the Royal College of Psychiatrists, contributing to clinical governance, educational supervision, and mental healthcare research.
