Mr Ian Wallace

Mr Ian Wallace is an established Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in adult lower limb conditions and joint reconstruction. Focusing primarily on the management of hip and knee pain, he delivers comprehensive clinical assessments and individualised treatment plans for patients experiencing joint degeneration, osteoarthritis, and acute trauma. Mr Wallace is committed to delivering high standards of surgical care, helping individuals restore mobility and alleviate chronic discomfort through evidence-based practices.

In his daily clinical practice, Mr Wallace manages a broad spectrum of lower limb disorders and traumatic injuries. His core expertise encompasses primary total hip replacement, primary total knee replacement, and complex revision arthroplasty for previously failed joint implants. Additionally, he performs arthroscopic knee surgery to address soft tissue injuries and mechanical joint symptoms. By combining thorough diagnostic evaluation with tailored surgical and non-surgical interventions, Mr Wallace aims to optimise patient outcomes and enhance long-term quality of life.

Mr Wallace completed his medical degree at the University of London in 1984, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours. He completed higher surgical training as a Registrar in the Northern Region and as a Senior Registrar in Leicester, culminating in obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Orthopaedics. To further refine his expertise in joint reconstruction, he completed a regional fellowship at Durham University followed by an international fellowship in Perth, Western Australia. He remains a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
