Dr Hisham Hamdalla

Dr Hisham Hamdalla is an accomplished Consultant Neurologist who provides expert diagnostic assessment and reassuring care for individuals facing complex neurological conditions. With a primary clinical focus on motor neurone disease and neuromuscular disorders, he works closely within multidisciplinary care teams to deliver tailored, patient-centred treatment plans. His practice encompasses a broad range of neurological health, including neurodegenerative conditions, movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy.

Dr Hamdalla completed his primary medical training, earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Khartoum, Sudan, before relocating to the United Kingdom for higher specialist training. He was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree in Newcastle upon Tyne for his work investigating transcranial magnetic stimulation in healthy individuals and motor neurone disease patients. He holds a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Neurology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in both London and Edinburgh. He also serves as an MRCP PACES Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and holds an academic appointment as an Honorary Senior Lecturer.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr Hamdalla is deeply involved in healthcare quality standards and clinical research. Serving as a Clinical Governance Lead for neuromuscular care, he focuses on maintaining high standards of patient safety and service development. He acts as a Principal Investigator for pioneering multicentre clinical trials evaluating novel treatments for motor neurone disease and symptom management strategies, ensuring that patients benefit from the latest scientific advances in neurological medicine.
